Along the way, he encounters Tom, who offers him a ride. Tom quickly discerns that Robin is a runaway, having been one himself. Tom shares his own tale of regret, having left home over what he now sees as trivial challenges. He lost touch with his family and regrets discarding the opportunity to communicate with them.
